Tryout Tips:
Sideline Chants
To prepare for tryouts, candidates should be working on their motion placement, sharpness and energy which will be evaluated on 4 sideline chants. 10 chants will be taught the week before tryouts.
Jumps
They should also be working on jump technique and flexibility. Each candidate trying out will need to show her toe touch and a series (multiple jumps in a row).
Tumbling
There will also be an opportunity to show any tumbling skills.
Tumbling classes are located at gyms around town.
Stunting
Stunting will not be evaluated during the Winter Tryout Process
Interview
Coaches will be having informal interviews with each candidate so that we get to know each as an individual and their goals if on the team. At the interview we will also discuss the importance of academics. In order to tryout and remain on the team, candidates must have no more than 1NM and have a 2.0 on the quarter grades report.
